Publika Magyar Könyvtári Kör
Publika Hungarian Library Group was established in 2001.
Library information experts, as founding members of, established this professional partnership in order to provide institutional background for those who wish to work for common aims and would like to take an active part in development programmes, both nationally and internationally.
Publika MKK aims to
provide practical support for innovative activities in Hungarian libraries
join international projects that further co-operation among public libraries, museums and archives
provide help for Hungarian public libraries in preparing their applications for national and international tenders, to give assistance in adapting international practice and in setting up exemplary services
arrange training and in-service training programmes, organise conferences, workshops and study trips.
Publika MKK is a nonprofit organisation, consists of individual and institutional supporting members who agree on the statutes and go along with the objectives of the association.
Work in Publika is directed by an elected board.

In order to achieve its aims, Publika signs agreements on co-operation with libraries and institutions from the country and abroad.
The activities of Publika Hungarian Library Group are determined by the objectives put down in its foundation document and, as far as possible, the tasks for the year have been realised.
Work throughout the year has proved to be effective and the different programmes organised by Publika have been successful. In addition to the individual members, other librarians and colleagues from partner institutions, such as archives and museums, took part in the activities. Libraries supported the realisation of programmes in kind, they provided premises and equipment.
